DTEK Donetsk Grids restored service to the front-line village of Nevelske
DTEK Donetsk Grids serves the Ukraine’s interests, shares the values of the society, and recognizes that permanent and uninterrupted power supply is crucial for comfort of people in the region. Restoration of electric power supply in the “grey” zone is a difficult process that requires additional coordination.
Since Nevelske is in the grey zone, performance of restoration activities required additional coordination with the JCCC (Joint Center for Control and Coordination on Ceasefire Issues) and involvement of representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the OSCE. The mechanism for performing repairs near the buffer zone is regulated by the relevant Procedure set in force by the Combined Forces Commander’s decree.
“As soon as the company received all the required approvals, our specialists immediately started to restore the power supply. Repair was conducted in two stages. First, we have replaced wire cut by splinters on two spans of a 6 kV line. Then, our specialists repaired damage on the low-voltage line that feeds households. Now, all 20 families living in the в Nevelske village are provided with electricity. We had to restore power supply to this village twice last year because of hostilities,” – says Oleksii Degtyarev, General Director for DTEK Donetsk Grids.
In 2021, DTEK Donetsk Grids restored the operation of 3 high-voltage lines, 9 lines of medium-low voltage and 99 transformer substations damaged because of shelling. The company restored service in 2,185 households of the front-line zone. In total, since the beginning of military actions in this area, DTEK Donetsk Grid restored the power supply at substations and power lines over 16,000 times.
