DTEK Donetsk Grids returned electricity to 84 settlements within one day
Now the energy workers are recovering the energy supply for residents of 5 more settlements in Mariupol Region, namely in the villages of Shevchenko, Makedonovka, Klyuchevoye, Priazovskoye, and Yuryevka.
DTEK serves the Ukraine’s interests, takes care of its customers, and does everything to ensure that their homes always have electricity, and thus, comfort. This is the second week in a row when the DTEK Donetsk Grids experts are working hard to restore the power supply and bring electricity back to all our customers despite the rain and wind.
“Above everything else, we restored the power supply in the support points for COVID-19 patients treatment and in medical facilities in general. Also, a priority was given to the repair of high-voltage lines supplying the bulk of customers. The company's experts are still on high alert to return electricity to the homes of all our customers as soon as possible. About 90 teams are involved in emergency recovery work every day, - says Oleksii Degtyarev, CEO of DTEK Donetsk Grids. "We will carry on with the recovery until the power supply is fully restored."
The settlements of Mariupol, Bakhmutsky, Volnovakhsky, Kramatorsky Districts suffered the most after severe weather.
In Kramatorsk, it was difficult to restore the power supply because of heavy rainfall and hail. A record quantity of precipitation was recorded in Mariupol on June 8, causing significant flooding. According to meteorologists, precipitation exceeded the monthly rate. It’s been the heaviest rainfall within the last 30 years. 8 crews of energy workers were engaged to recover the functionality of 69 transformer substations, 8 power lines. The company's energy workers are still on high alert to restore power supply to another 52 transformer substations. Some of them were de-energized due to the shutdown of the Port-35 substation of DTEK High-Voltage Grids caused by critical flooding of the area. Now the employees of the power company are drying the equipment with heat guns to put it into operation as soon as possible.
According to meteorologists, thunderstorms, hail, and squally wind of 15-20 m/s are expected within Donetsk Region on June 9.
Let us recall that over the previous week, DTEK Donetsk Grids returned electricity to 200 settlements that lost power after severe weather. And these settlements count 170,000 customers.
