Consequences of yesterday’s bad weather in the Dnipropetrovsk region and emergencies that it caused continue to be eliminated. Yesterday, DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews have restored operation of most of the power lines and transformer substations, restoring electricity to 56,000 families in 100 settlements of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Repairs are ongoing.

On August 6, bad weather raged again in the Dnipropetrovsk region. A gale force wind with gusts up to 30 m/s caused widespread power outages. Nikopol, Synelnykove, Kryvyi Rih and Novomoskovsk districts were affected the most.

A reinforced team of DTEK Dnipro Grids energy workers continues to eliminate consequences of bad weather. 30 crews of specialists were engaged in these works. Emergency repairs on lines and equipment are conducted immediately upon detection of new outages. The work is complicated by a large number of broken wires due to the fallen trees and corresponding blocking of access to the sites of emergencies.

In 24 hours, from 13:00 on August 6 to 13:00 on August 7, DTEK energy workers managed to restore operation of more than 900 transformer substations and 58 power lines. Electricity has been restored to more than 56,000 families in 100 settlements that were completely or partially without electricity.

All high and medium voltage lines have been repaired. Work on the 0.4 kV lines as per the specific customer requests are ongoing.

Approximately 1,500 homes remain without electricity. Energy workers plan to complete all restoration activities by the end of the day today, providing weather conditions do not worsen.
