Within the framework of the project called "Combating COVID-19 in Ukraine", DTEK together with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation donated two advance ventilators to the hospitals in Odesa and the region. Thanks to these ventilators, doctors will not only save the lives of patients with COVID-19, but they will help tremendously in intensive care units after the end of the pandemic.

One ventilator goes to the Odesa Regional Center for Socially Significant Diseases, and the second one goes to the Podolsk Central District Hospital.

“DTEK is a socially responsible company. It is our priority to deliver support to the healthcare system these days. After all, our power engineers and their families live in Odesa Region. Thanks to the mobilization of resources from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, DTEK, FC Shakhtar and other SCM assets, 200 advanced ventilators had been purchased for hospitals throughout the country this year, and two of them will be saving lives in Odesa Region from now on,” says Oleksandr Fomenko, DTEK Odesa Grids CEO.

According to him, only joint efforts of the community, business and government can stop the pandemic. DTEK Odesa Grids agreed with the regional state administration on the need for equipment and the list of hospitals.

The number of patients with COVID is growing in Odesa and across the region. Every day we see distressing statistics, but we are doing our best to prevent an aggravation of the situation. Ventilators are of great relevance. They will help save the lives of Odesa residents during the pandemic, and will be useful in future,"- says Vyacheslav Ovechkin, acting chairman of the regional state administration.

The ventilators are of high class. They are easy to use and largely eliminate the human factor. Doctors have also received custom-made protective clothing, gloves, disinfectants, that is, all the PPE required to stay healthy when working with patients.
