DTEK Kyiv Grids has restored electricity to 67,000 Kyivans over the course of a month
In September, there were 107 power outages on the grid in Kyiv. The main cause was damage of cable lines due to excess of the permissible load or wear.
“DTEK Group is a responsible business, partner of society and state. Thanks to the work of DTEK Kyiv Grids specialists, power has been restored to 67,000 company’s customers in Kyiv last month. Our specialists are working 24/7 to ensure stable operation of electrical infrastructure of the city and full scope of electricity supply to the capital,” – noted DTEK Kyiv Grids.
At the same time, the company continues its repair program related to preparation of the city for the autumn-winter season. 95% of scheduled activities are already completed. As informed earlier, as part of preparation of the capital for winter, DTEK Kyiv Grids will upgrade over 600 power facilities of the capital, repair 14 high-voltage substations and clear over 145 kilometers of the overhead power lines from green spaces, thus ensuring that tree branches do not cause damage of power lines when they, for example, fall on the wires during bad weather. Together, these measures will make it possible to improve reliability of power supply to residents, institutions and enterprises of the city during the increased electricity demand period.
At the same time, energy workers conduct joint training with rescue services of the capital to prepare for all challenges of the heating season in the conditions of martial law. DTEK Kyiv Grids also gave advices to condominiums and housing offices on how to prepare grids of multistoried buildings for winter, as serviceability of networks inside the multistoried buildings is one of the components of power supply reliability.
