DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids to restore service faster thanks to new vehicles
By 2033, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids plans to reduce the interruption time to 269 minutes. In 2021, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids teams received 62 new cars. Thus, as part of the investment program, the company purchased aerial platforms, drilling and crane equipment, light cars, trucks, and an electrical lab. In total, the company invested almost UAH 54 million in the renewal of the vehicle fleet in 2021.
DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids is a reliable, and responsible company. Our crews serve more than 50,000 kilometers of power lines across the Kyiv region. For the Kyiv region networks to always be in a good condition, the company adds modern and efficient vehicles to their fleet.

In 2022, the company will keep upgrading its fleet. DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids investment program provides more than UAH 31 million for this purpose. In total, the company plans to purchase special-purpose cars for at least UAH 148 million by 2025. This will significantly renew the vehicle fleet, half of which is currently worn out.
These new vehicles are much more reliable and efficient than the cars made in the 1980s, which DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids still uses. Thus, the company's field crews will be able to go to the failure locations throughout the Kyiv region without delay and promptly fix them.
In particular, the energy workers will spend less time searching for damaged cables, including new generation cables made of cross-linked polyethylene, thanks to the new electrical laboratory ETL-35K. The new 18-meter towers on light trucks are ideal for areas with a lot of buildings, because they are maneuverable and small. Besides, thanks to the 30-meter car tower, which the company also purchased last year, the crews will repair power lines on high poles and in hard-to-reach places in no time.
Thanks to a major upgrade of vehicles, networks, and substations in 2021, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids reduced the power interruption time by an average of 163 minutes. If in 2020 each customer spent an average of 655 minutes without power, this number was 492 minutes in 2021. DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids plans to reduce the power interruption time to 269 minutes by 2033.
