DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids reminds of the need to report electricity meter readings every month

Every month more than 82,000 customers of the region get electricity bills that do not reflect real consumption but contain forecasted meter readings. This happens because the Distribution System Operator does not receive monthly electricity consumption data from customers. To avoid such instances, customers should report their meter readings in time. To this end, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids has some convenient remote services.
DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids reminds of the need to report electricity meter readings every month

According to the legislation, each customer of the Distribution System Operator needs to take the meter readings on the last day monthly and report them within three days. Then based on this information, the electricity supplier generates a bill. If the customer, for some reason, did not do this, then the sum in the bill will be indicated based on the average daily consumption, and not actual one.

“DTEK strives to become the benchmark for customer focus and implements high-level service standards. Every month more than 82,000 families do not report their electricity consumption data to us and thus they pay for electricity per the forecast calculations. To avoid this, our customers should provide meter data on time. For this we offer our customers to use our remote services that are reliable, fast, and available 24/7,” says Vitalii Shaida, Director General at DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.

In general, there are five tools available to report the electricity meter readings:

  • Mobile application "Merezhi Online" (the application is available in the AppStore and Google Play Market);
  • Webform on the site, no registration required. In the section, you should select a district, indicate your customer account, the type of your meter and day/night readings;
  • Customer online account on the website of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids;
  • Chatbots on Viber or Telegram. You can find them by the name "DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids";
  • Voice menu to report readings automatically. Call by phones (044) 4590740, (067) 4957040, (093) 495-70-40 or (099) 495-70-40 and hit "2". Then follow the voice prompts;

Each method of sending meter readings remotely is convenient and has its own advantages. It is worth trying and finding the best option for yourself.
