DTEK Kyiv Region Grids received ISO certification

The health and safety, industrial and environmental safety system, business management systems in DTEK Kyiv Region Grids comply with the international standards. The company has successfully passed the audit, and received three documents certifying its compliance with the standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

The representatives of MS Consulting, LLC audited DTEK Kyiv Region Grids for compliance with international standards, such as ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9001:2015. The audit lasted five days, thus, experts assessed the processes in place to ensure the best quality functioning of systems in the company:

  • Occupational health and safety management systems,
  • Environmental management system,
  • Quality management system.

Continuous improvement of these processes is a prerequisite for compliance with the requirements of the standards.

At DTEK Kyiv Region Grids we are aware of our responsibility to the community, so we carefully control the work quality, care of the environment, care about our employees and customers’ safety, and we confirm this through international standardization certificates. This year, the company also successfully passed an audit for compliance with all requirements. The audit was conducted in eight districts of Kyiv region, in particular in Baryshivsky, Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky, Bila Tserkva, Boguslavsky, Ivankivsky, Chornobyl, Fastiv, Vasylkivsky and in two Departments of the enterprise, namely OSH Department and Connections Department. The audit will be conducted in other departments over 2021-2022,” says Vitalii Shaida, DTEK Kyiv Region Grids CEO.

During the audit, the auditors recognized the following aspects:

  • Installation of nesting platforms for storks and bird diverters on power lines;
  • Evaluation of environmental impact at the design stages of energy facilities;
  • Arranging waste segregation and disposal;
  • Monitoring the crews’ location using GPS systems;
  • Photo-recording of technical measures to check work areas and video-recording of briefings;
  • Requests management in the process of new connections;
  • All communication activities to improve customer service.

As previously reported, DTEK Grids won the highest award for environmental policy, which the company consistently implements in its activities. Ecologists awarded the Ukrainian Eco-Oscar for the biodiversity conservation - protection of white storks from electrocution. Distribution system operators have installed special protective nest platforms on electric poles since 2013. DTEK Kyiv Region Grids joined the project this year.
