Since the beginning of the year, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids has replaced more than 23,000 electricity meters for their customers. They replace old meters that have served their service life. The new meters will enhance the accuracy of electricity metering in the homes of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids customers. The company could replace the meters worth more than UAH 5 million thanks to the incentive tariff setting methodology introduced in 2021.

By the end of the year, the company plans to install another 14,000 meters throughout the Kyiv region. Funds for this are embedded in the DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids investment program for 2021, which increased by 112% to UAH 725 million compared to 2020.

“DTEK strives to become a benchmark for customer focus and implements high-level service standards. We make sure that our customers have a stable power supply, and the meters ensure its accurate metering. To do this, we are consistently replacing meters that have exhausted its resource,” says Vitalii Shayda, General Director of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.

Each meter is designed for a certain period of operation when the manufacturer can guarantee the accuracy of its readings. At the end of this period, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids checks its serviceability or replaces it with a new one. In addition, if the company's customers believe that the electricity meter is not working properly, they can apply to DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids with a request to check the meter and replace it, if needed. Such a request can be submitted via a chatbot to Telegram or Viber, the company's website, as well as the IVR of the call center.

For the convenience of DTEK's customers, Kyiv Regional Grids has introduced an online service "Schedule an electrician’s visit" to service the meter. To use this service, go to the DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids website and select "Troubles with the meter" in the "Request a service" section. Then you need to choose one of the services from the list, fill out the application form and wait for the confirmation. A short video on how to remotely use the service "Schedule an electrician’s visit" using the company's website can be found here.

DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids representatives who check or replace meters are dressed in branded overalls with the company logo and name. Also, at the request of the customer, electricians are required to show their IDs.

DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids informs its customers in advance about the start time of installation works by phone or places notices near entrances. The monthly schedule of meter replacement can be found on the company's website in the section "Installation of meters for customers under the 2021 investment program".
