DTEK Kyiv Grids restored electricity supply to the children’s hospital “Okhmatdyt”
At 9 a.m. today, energy workers restored electricity to all buildings of the children’s hospital “Okhmatdyt” in Kyiv. 63 energy workers of DTEK Kyiv Grids together with the SES have been removing debris near the destroyed substation and installing new equipment to connect the hospital to the grid and switch off the generator.
“The enemy missile strike resulted in complete destruction of the transformer substation that provided electricity to Okhmatdyt. Our energy workers worked 24/7, day and night, to restore electricity to the hospital as soon as possible. This is extremely important for the specialists to be able to assess which important equipment has survived and start restoration of the hospital. And we fulfilled our duty. By 9 a.m., electricity has been restored to the hospital,” – summed up Denys Bondar, CEO at DTEK Kyiv Grids.
DTEK Kyiv Grids installed 3 temporary substations, switchboards, tested and connected 29 cable lines. The works were complicated by the fact that equipment restoration had to be carried out in the conditions of debris removal and heat.
