DTEK Kyiv Grids repaired 59 lines that power boiler houses of the capital

DTEK Kyiv Grids repaired 59 damaged power lines that provide electricity to heat supply facilities of the city – boiler houses. Reliable and uninterrupted work of pumps and other equipment that provide heat and hot water to the homes of residents of Kyiv depends on operability of these grids. These works will allow to reduce the probability of emergencies and stably pass the heating season.

Ukrainians have passed the most difficult heating season in the history of the country. However, the upcoming winter 2023-2024 may be just as difficult. Therefore, DTEK Kyiv Grids actively prepares for the start of a new AWP. Specialists of the company conduct repairs and maintenance of the city grids’ equipment to ensure its reliable operation in winter.  

DTEK Grids is a foundation and support for normal life of the country and our customers. Back in spring, once the previous heating season ended, we inspected the power lines that provide electricity to the boiler houses. Based on the results of these inspections, we discovered 73 cable lines that require repair. As of now, 59 of them have been completely repaired. They are now ready for peak loads that may be observed during the cold season,” – commented Denys Bondar, CEO at DTEK Kyiv Grids 

DTEK specialists are currently repairing another 14 damaged power lines. They will be completely restored by the start of the heating season in the city and will be able to fully provide electricity to the critically important infrastructure facilities. 

As noted earlier, DTEK Kyiv Grids has upgraded two high-voltage substations before the start of the heating season. They provide electricity to almost 200 multistoried buildings, over 2,500 private houses, schools, kindergartens, hospitals and other socially important facilities in the capital.
