DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids invests over 800 million hryvnas in upgrade of the grids in the Kyiv region

DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids continues to create the infrastructure for rebuilding of Ukraine and recovery of the economy. In 2024, overall volume of the investment program will be 823 million hryvnas. Thanks to the construction of new lines, substations and modernization of the existing ones, we will minimize emergencies and ensure stable operation of the grid in the Kyiv region, particularly in the areas with power shortage,”underscored Vitalii Shaida, CEO at DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.

This year, construction of a new cable line will begin in Obukhiv district. It will ensure backup power supply for 7 substations, thus providing an opportunity to reduce duration of outages for the customers during emergencies. The DSO plans to complete construction of the line in 2025. Additionally, energy workers will perform reconstruction of a high-voltage substation in the Obukhiv district. Together, these power facilities will increase reliability and quality of power supply for more than 17,000 families.

Energy workers will complete reconstruction of three cable lines in Bucha district. This will improve the grids, allowing them to withstand higher load. Such lines are less prone to emergencies, as they are protected from adverse weather conditions. DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids will launch a large-scale project related to construction of a new substation for the actively growing Borshchahivka community. It will last till 2026.

They will reconstruct a cable network in Fastiv that required unloading due to the growing electricity demand. This will increase reliability of power supply for almost 3,000 homes.

This year the energy company will continue its project in the field of digitalization related to implementation of an automated dispatch control system SCADA. It helps dispatchers see the entire energy system of the region online, monitor its operating mode and better assess a critical situation or an emergency. In case of emergencies, SCADA will automatically send a message to the chatbot or website about power outage or restoration, so you will find out about it in a matter of seconds. This system is a part of development of Smart Grids that should ensure uninterrupted power supply.

DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids makes every effort to ensure reliable and quality power supply to Ukrainians. As this is an opportunity to live a normal life, stay in touch with relatives and support the country in the difficult conditions of martial law.
