In 2020, DTEK Odesa Grids have installed six unloading transformer substations, replaced 199 poles for 0.4 kV and 10 kV overhead lines in the Saratsky district. The Company also replaced more than eight kilometers of bare wire with self-supporting insulated wire. These steps will provide uninterrupted power supply to 44 thousand residents and more than 80 social services of the region.

DTEK is a responsible and reliable company that takes care of its customers. This year we are investing UAH 2.4 million in the upgrade of electrical equipment and networks in the Saratsky District under investment and repair programs. This is part of the program for the power grids upgrade in Odesa Region, which is consistently implemented by our company,” said Oleksander Fomenko, DTEK Odessa Power Grids CEO.

Power engineers installed six unloading transformer substations, in particular, in the villages of Petropavlivka, Uspenivka, Serhiivka, Mykolayivka-Novorossiyska, Zorya and Kulevcha of the Saratsky District between January and October 2020. These measures will ensure uninterrupted power supply not only to the private houses of the district residents, but also to the community services - 30 schools, attended by 6130 students, a boarding school, 30 preschools, a central district hospital, 21 rural health posts, emergency units, etc.

The power engineers have cleared more than 40 km of overhead lines from branches, including 26 km of 0.4 kV overhead lines and 15 km on 10 kV lines in the Saratsk region. These steps are crucial to prevent emergency shutdowns caused by bad weather.

In 2020, the company have started upgrading overhead lines, which provides for the replacement of bare wire with self-supporting insulated wire. It is made of sewn polyethylene, has a larger section size from 16 to 120 sq. mm and a service life of at least 30 years. The company replaced more than eight kilometers of bare wire with self-supporting insulated wire in the Saratsky district, four of which are in the villages of Menyailovka and Rozivka. Within the district, DTEK Odesa Grids constructed 3.7 km of 10 kV overhead lines, 750 meters of them are in the village of Petropavlivka.

All these measures to upgrade the power grids will not only improve the quality of electricity supply to the homes of 44,000 residents of the region, but also meet the growing needs of agricultural enterprises operating in the region.
