There was an emergency shutdown of the Izmail substation on September 30 at 4:18PM. The reason was the damage of support insulators during the equipment reconnection. At 4:20PM, the failure recovery was started. First of all, the company reconnected the medical centers that treat COVID-19 patients to the backup power supply: the Danube Regional Hospital and the Izmail District Infectious Diseases Hospital. The power supply to these vitals was restored at 5:20PM. Then, all household customers were also connected to the power supply at 8:04PM.

“Within minutes after the emergency equipment shutdown at the Izmail substation, we promptly began to reconnect hospitals that accept COVID-19 patients to the backup power supply, because we understand how important it is for these centers to have electricity. Within one hour, we restored power supply to the Danube Regional Hospital and the Izmail District Infectious Diseases Hospital, - says Oleksandr Fomenko, General Director at DTEK Odesa Grids. - As of 8:04PM, we connected all household customers as well. DTEK is a reliable and conscious company. We make sure that our customers’ homes have lights on and comfort."
