DTEK Odesa Grids reconstructed the Zvezdny Distribution Center located in the Suvorovsky district of Odesa. Thanks to the work performed, 8,418 customers received reliable and high-quality power supply, considering the growing loads in the network. There will also be less faults, power outages, and more options to connect new customers.

DTEK Odesa Grids replaced the old equipment at the Zvezdny Distribution Center with modern equipment adapted for remote control. In the event of emergencies, the company will be in a position to switch the line and return power to customers. Cells with vacuum switches are also installed at the distribution center. They do not contain oil, which means they do not pollute the environment with oil products. In addition, the company has completely renovated the distribution center premises.

“DTEK is a business that serves the Ukraine’s interests. We reconstruct not only high-voltage substations, but also medium-voltage distribution centers so that our customers have high-quality and uninterrupted power supply 24/7. The company invested 4.3 million hryvnias to renovate the Zvezdny Distribution Center. Thus, we will have fewer faults and more possibilities for new connections,” said Oleksandr Fomenko, Head of DTEK Odesa Grids.

The Zvezdny Distribution Center was put into operation 37 years ago. Equipment inside was physically worn out and obsolete. It could not fully meet the today’s needs of customers.

In 2021, the company invested UAH 888.8 million in the development of the Odesa and regional network. This is 86% more than in the past. Thanks to incentive investments RAB-tariffs, a new approach to tariff setting for electricity distribution, adopted in Ukraine in 2021, investments in Ukraine’s power grids have increased significantly. So, the company is in a position to upgrade the networks, which should have been done many years ago.
