DTEK restored electricity to almost 24,000 families after bad weather in the Dnipropetrovsk region

Snowstorm that started in the night of January 8 caused icing of wires, fallen trees and broken power lines in the region. In 24 hours since energy workers started eliminating consequences of bad weather, they managed to restore operation of the most difficult sections of damaged lines and restore power to 23,800 families.

Energy workers restored operation of 77 power lines and nearly 800 transformer substations. Electricity has been restored to 107 settlements, completely or partially de-energized.

Emergency crews are working 24/7 in the difficult weather conditions. More than 236 specialists and 78 items of machinery are engaged in works. Restoration activities are complicated by strong wind and dense layer of ice on wires, insulators and trees that create additional load on the power lines.

Recovery efforts are ongoing. As of the morning of January 9, nearly 35,000 homes in 312 settlements remain without electricity. Energy workers put every effort to energize them as soon as possible.

Let us remind that strong gusts of wind may cause falling of trees and broken wires. During bad weather, you should always be careful, follow safety rules and not approach the power lines.
