DTEK restored electricity to 15 settlements, de-energized due to bad weather in the Dnipropetrovsk region

DTEK Dnipro Grids completely eliminated consequences of bad weather that took place on May 29-30. Electricity has been restored to more than 13,000 homes in 15 completely or partially de-energized settlements. Power supply is now restored to all customers.

On May 29-30, thunderstorm and strong wind in the Dnipropetrovsk region have completely or partially de-energized 15 settlements, 186 transformer substations, leaving over 13,000 families in Dnipro, Pavlohrad, Pokrovske, Vasylkivka, Zelenyi Hai and other settlements without electricity. 

Over 20 DTEK Dnipro Grids crews were engaged in prompt elimination of emergencies on the grid caused by bad weather. Energy workers made maximum efforts to restore electricity to every home as soon as possible. 

Emergency repairs on the lines and equipment were conducted immediately after detection of new outages during bad weather. By morning of May 30, power has been restored to more than 6,000 families. The next day, electricity has been restored to another 7,000 customers. 

Power supply is now fully restored. 

Distribution System Operator remines of the following safety rules: 

  • avoid power lines during strong wind;  
  • do not approach bare wires and broken lines, and never touch them;
