DTEK brings back light: energy workers restored electricity supply to 53,000 families in Odesa, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions over the course of the week
Donetsk region remains the most active area of hostilities in Ukraine. Constant shelling damages grids and substations that provide electricity to those who stay in the region on a daily basis. Our specialists restore electricity supply once it becomes possible. Last week, they have restored operation of the grids for almost 43,000 families.
Dnipropetrovsk region suffers from regular shelling as well. DTEK Dnipro Grids energy workers restored electricity to 9,000 families over the course of the week.
The grids in the Odesa region are being damaged by shelling more and more often. In particular, an enemy attack last week left about 50 families without electricity. Energy workers promptly repaired damages and restored power to homes of residents of the Odesa region, affected by shelling.
“For 600 days now, energy workers have been holding the energy front and providing Ukrainians with electricity in the conditions of increased risks. Since the beginning of a full-scale war, we have restored electricity to 9 mln* families in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Donetsk regions, and in the city of Kyiv. Some settlements close to the area of hostilities had electricity restored to them on dozens of occasions,” – noted Oleksandr Fomenko, CEO at DTEK Grids.
DTEK Grids energy workers are doing everything possible to eliminate damage as soon as possible. They commence work immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES.
* considering that some customers had electricity restored to them on 2 or more occasions.
