DTEK brings back light: energy workers restored electricity to more than 3,000 families in the Kyiv region in March

In March, enemy attacks on the energy infrastructure intensified, regularly leaving thousands of Ukrainians without electricity. Overhead power lines are the ones most frequently destroyed by shelling. They suffer from direct hits, falling of shell and drone fragments. In particular, last month the enemy did not give up his attempts to attack the Kyiv region, where power has been restored to 3,000 families in Bucha and Vyshhorod districts over the past month.

Our task is to do everything possible to provide electricity to residents and critical infrastructure despite enemy attacks. In March, the enemy increased his efforts to leave Ukrainians without electricity . Thus, fragments of missiles damaged the grids during the attack on the Kyiv region on March 21 and 24. In less than 24 hours, energy workers restored electricity to 3,144 families, whose homes were de-energized due to enemy attacks,” – noted Vitalii Shaida, CEO at DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.

Emergency crews repair the grids immediately after obtaining permission from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, energy workers have restored electricity to a total of more than 1.5 mln households in the Kyiv region*.
