DTEK brings back light: in January, energy workers have restored electricity supply to almost 230,000 families in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions
In January, the damage of energy infrastructure due to hostility remains intense. Currently, most of the damage occurs in the frontline regions, where shelling takes place daily. In the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, in particular. Over the course of January, specialists of the Distribution System Operators have restored operation of grids for a total of 201,000 families in Donetsk and 26,000 families in Dnipropetrovsk regions.
Additionally, they have promptly restored operation of grids in Kyiv after the attacks on the New Year Eve, thus restoring electricity to 24,000 customers in the capital.
For 11 months, energy workers have been working in high risk conditions in order to restore power supply after shelling. Since the beginning of a full-scale invasion they have already restored power to 6.6 mln customers. Some of these customers (in the Donetsk region in particular) had power restored to them on dozens occasions due to regular enemy attacks. Energy workers make every effort to promptly restore electricity to all affected immediately after obtaining a permit for work performance from SES and AFU.
The most difficult situation with electricity supply is currently in the Odesa region. The latest rf’s massive attack has put NPC Ukrenergo’s power facilities that power Odesa and Odesa district out of order, causing emergency outages in the region. DTEK and NPC Ukrenergo are working round-the-clock to repair damaged equipment and stabilize the situation with electricity throughout the region as soon as possible.
