DTEK brings back light: power supply restored to 53,000 families in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions

DTEK energy workers have restored electricity to 53,000 families that were left without power supply due to enemy shelling. Over the course of a week, October 2 through 8, our specialists repaired the grids in 85 settlements of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators repair the grids, destroyed by the enemy, immediately after obtaining permission from the AFU and SES.

Donetsk region remains the most active area of hostilities in Ukraine. Shelling damages grids and substations every day. Our specialists restore electricity supply once it becomes possible. Last week, they have restored operation of the grids for 45,700 families.

Enemy attacks frequently leave the Dnipropetrovsk region without electricity as well. Over the course of a week, electricity supply had to be restored to almost 8,000 families after shelling.

“For 595 days energy workers have been holding the energy front and providing Ukrainians with electricity in conditions of increased risks. Since the beginning of a full-scale war, we have restored electricity to 9 mln* families in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Donetsk regions, and in the city of Kyiv. Some settlements close to the area of hostilities had electricity restored to them on dozens of occasions,” – noted Oleksandr Fomenko, CEO at DTEK Grids.

DTEK Grids energy workers are doing everything possible to eliminate damage as soon as possible. They commence work immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES.
