During the week before New Year and New Year holidays (December 26 through January 3), DTEK energy workers have restored electricity to 128,000 families, left without power due to shelling in the city of Kyiv and in Donetsk, Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Despite regular shelling, specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators make every effort to promptly repair everything that was destroyed by the enemy.

From December 26 to January 3, specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators have restored operation of grids, damaged due to hostilities, for 128,000 families in 80 settlements of Donetsk, Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as in the city of Kyiv.

In the pre-holiday days, the enemy did not give up trying to leave Ukrainian cities without electricity for the New Year’s Eve.

Nevertheless, DTEK energy workers managed to ensure stable power supply on the New Year’s Eve for the residents of Kyiv, Donetsk, Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions, and the city of Kyiv.

For 10 months, energy workers have been working in high risk conditions in order to restore power supply after shelling. Since the beginning of a full-scale invasion they have already restored power to 6.6 mln customers. Some of these customers had power restored to them on dozens occasions due to regular enemy attacks. Energy workers make every effort to promptly restore electricity to all victims immediately after obtaining a permit for work performance from SES and AFU.

Unfortunately, on January 3, DTEK Donetsk Grids energy worker was injured by a missile strike while performing his work in Kramatorsk. The same day, he was given the necessary medical assistance. The company will further take care of the necessary assistance to the employee.

As of January 4, shutdowns in Kyiv, Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as in the city of Kyiv are conducted in compliance with stabilization schedules despite difficult situation in the energy system. Distribution System Operators will be able to meet the schedules providing there are no new attacks on the energy system.
