DTEK brings back light: electricity has been restored to homes of 62,000 families in the Donetsk region over the course of a week

Over the past week (April 17 through 23), DTEK energy workers have restored electricity to 62,000 families in 72 settlements, left without power supply due to shelling in the Donetsk region. Specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators repair the grids, damaged by the enemy, immediately after obtaining permission from the AFU and SES.

Donetsk region remains an arena of fiercest fighting. The grids that provide electricity to residents of the region suffer damage daily due to enemy attacks. Over the course of a week (April 17 through 23), DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists have restored electricity to 62,000 families in the Donetsk region.

“Despite shelling and attacks, DTEK Donetsk Grids energy workers on a daily basis make every effort to provide residents of the Donets region with electricity and at least some basic conditions. Since the beginning of a full-scale war, energy workers have restored electricity supply to homes of 4.3 million families. To some of them – on dozens of occasions due to regular and continuous shelling,” – noted Oleksandr Fomenko, DTEK Grids CEO.

DTEK Grids energy workers are doing everything possible to eliminate damages as soon as possible and they commence repairs immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES.

For their efforts, eight specialists of DTEK Odesa Grids were awarded the President’s award “For the defense of Ukraine”. The state award was given for courage during elimination of emergencies at the power facilities in the Odesa region and ensuring the operation of critical infrastructure facilities during hostilities.
