Over the course of a week (December 12 through 18), DTEK energy workers have restored electricity to 228,000 families, left without power due to shelling in the city of Kyiv and in Kyiv, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Despite regular shelling, specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators make every effort to promptly repair everything that was destroyed by the enemy.

Over the past week (December 12 through 18), specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators have restored operation of grids, damaged due to hostilities, for 228,000 families in 107 settlements of Kyiv, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as in the city of Kyiv. Most of these settlements regularly suffer from russia’s shelling, so energy workers have to regularly restore electricity to them.

For instance, rf’s attack on December 16 has damaged power facilities in Kyiv and Kyiv region. By the evening of December 16, DTEK Kyiv Grids energy workers together with utility services and NPC Ukrenergo specialists have repaired electrical equipment that powers one of the water supply facilities and 16,000 families of Troieshchyna. On December 17, joint efforts of energy workers made it possible to restore electricity to 125,000 families in Boryspil, Brovary and nearby settlements.

Besides, energy workers have restored electricity to 51,000 customers in the Donetsk region and 36,000 families in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The enemy has attacked the country’s energy system twice last week. Specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators together with NPC Ukrenergo energy workers and utility services are doing everything possible to repair everything that was destroyed by the enemy and stabilize the situation. As soon as we get a permission from the AFU and SES, we immediately commence restoration activities in order to restore electricity to the customers. Since the beginning of a full-scale invasion we have restored electricity to more than 6 mln customers,” – notes DTEK Grids CEO Oleksandr Fomenko.

As of 14:00 December 19, emergency power shutdowns continue to take place in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions, as well as in the city of Kyiv. Due to large-scale damage and power shortage, schedules of stabilization shutdowns are no longer valid. The company will inform customers if the situation changes.

This week, DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions plan to post updated schedules of stabilization shutdowns that take into account current state of the energy system.
