DTEK brings back light: energy workers have restored electricity supply to 112,000 families in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions over the course of a week

Over the course of a week (May 1 through 7), DTEK energy workers have restored electricity to 112,000 families in 120 settlements of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, left without power supply due to the enemy shelling. Specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators repair the grids, destroyed by the enemy, immediately after obtaining permission from the AFU and SES.

Over the first week of May, shelling has intensified in the Donetsk region, where active hostilities are ongoing. Shelling has also damaged the grids in the communities of the Dnipropetrovsk region that are located close to the temporarily occupied territories. Over the course of 7 days, energy workers of the DTEK Grids DSO have restored operation of power equipment for 109,000 families in Donetsk and 2,500 families in Dnipropetrovsk regions.

“For 439 days our specialists are holding the energy front, restoring electricity in the most difficult conditions. Since the beginning of a full-scale war, we have restored electricity to 7.6 mln* families in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Donetsk regions, as well as in the city of Kyiv. The most difficult situation is in the Donetsk region, where some settlements require repair of the grids, destroyed by shelling, on a daily basis,” – noted DTEK Grids CEO Oleksandr Fomenko.

DTEK Grids energy workers are doing everything possible to repair damage as soon as possible. They commence work immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES.
