DTEK brings back light: energy workers have restored electricity supply to almost 90,000 families in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions over the course of a week
Regular enemy attacks continue in Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions, causing damage to the grids and leaving residents without electricity. Over the course of a week (February 6 through 12), specialists of the Distribution System Operators have restored operation of grids for 40,700 families in Donetsk and 48,700 families in Dnipropetrovsk regions.
“For almost a year, energy workers have to repair the grids, destroyed due to the war, in the conditions of constant shelling. Since February 24 last year, they have already restored power to 6.8 mln customers. Energy workers repair the grids immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES,” – noted DTEK Grids CEO Oleksandr Fomenko.
The most critical situation remains in the Odesa region. Energy system of the region is extremely weakened due to missile attacks. On February 4, one of the main NPC Ukrenergo substations broke down, leaving residents of Odesa and Odesa district without electricity.
On February 9, energy workers managed to improve the situation and launch shutdown schedules in the Odesa region in test mode. These schedules are still being tested. We are collecting customers’ feedbacks and doing everything possible to improve schedules in accordance with our customers’ comments.
