DTEK restored electricity to more than 4,500 homes in the Dnipropetrovsk region, left without electricity due to the storm
The storm that is ongoing since evening of July 10 caused massive blackouts and breaking of power lines in the region. Most blackouts happened in Nikopol, Dnipro, Kamianske and Synelnykove districts. Energy workers have already restored operation of 11 lines and 111 transformer substations, thus restoring electricity to 4,584 families in 30 settlements of the region.
“Currently, 41 settlements in the rural area, 13 lines and 245 transformer substations remain de-energized. Overall, it is more than 10,000 customers. Energy workers are putting maximum effort to restore electricity to people’s homes,” – informed the company.
DTEK Dnipro Grids has engaged 16 crews (40 employees and 16 pieces of machinery) to eliminate consequences of the storm. Emergency and restoration activities in the region are to be completed by the end of the day.
Distribution System Operator reminds of the following safety rules:
- avoid staying near power lines during strong wind;
- if you discover broken lines, please stay 8-12 meters away, never touch bare wire and inform the company immediately;
- in case of blackouts, do not try to perform repair by yourself. If a blackout happened in an apartment or house – call an electrician, servicing your house. If there is a blackout at the entire street – contact DTEK Dnipro Grids specialists;
