DTEK Dnipro Grids resumes installation of smart meters in customers’ homes that was postponed due to war. New meters are multi-zone and allow saving money on electricity. They will replace obsolete meters, whose service life has expired. By the end of the year, such automated metering systems will be installed in homes of 36,000 residents of Dnipro and Dnipropetrovsk region. Energy workers ask to grant company’s employees access to the houses and apartments to carry out installation.

DTEK Dnipro Grids installs two-zone meters within its investment program. First, they will be installed in residential buildings with obsolete meters of low accuracy. Such activities do not require additional expenditures by the customer. Smart meters automatically submit electricity consumption readings. Moreover, they have a feature of day and night electricity usage that allows reducing electricity cost*.

“DTEK continues developing grids infrastructure using modern digital technologies in order to provide quality European-level power supply services to Ukrainians. Installation of smart meters in customers’ homes that was postponed due to hostilities has now resumed in Dnipro and Dnipropetrovsk region. Such replacement of devices is still free for the residents. By the end of 2022, it is planned to install over 36,000 more modern automated devices,” – inform DTEK Dnipro Grids.

The works are currently underway in Dnipro, where energy workers plan to install over 30,000 smart meters this year. In September, they will start replacing meters in other settlements, as well. Namely, in the towns of Nikopol, Kamianske, Synelnykove, Kryvyi Rih, Pavlohrad, Marhanets, Pokrov, Verkhnodniprovsk. As well as in Lozuvatka, Chervone, Chkalovka, Mykolaivka, Dniprovske and other villages.

Before conducting replacement, DTEK Dnipro Grids specialists inform residents about it in advance. They place notifications in the houses, indicating date of work performance and contact telephone number of the responsible employee of the company. To perform installation, specialists are to be let in the premise (if the meter is in the apartment).

Works are conducted by employees, wearing yellow-grey company’s overalls with a company logo. Electricians must present corresponding ID upon customer’s request.

DTEK specialists are working 24/7 to ensure reliable power supply of houses and enterprises. Despite frequent shelling, specialists of the energy company continue to promptly restore power to settlements that suffered from hostilities.
