DTEK restored electricity to more than 46,000 families, left without it due to the storm in the Kyiv region
On August 07, heavy rain, thunderstorm and squally wind gusts up to 20 m/s left 41 settlements in the Kyiv region completely without electricity and 87 – partially, thus damaging 63 overhead lines and 1,234 transformer substations. The storm caused most of the damage to Vyshhorod and Irpin energy centers.
In order to promptly eliminate emergencies on the grid, caused by the storm, and restore electricity to residents of the Kyiv region, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids emergency crews were transferred to the high alert mode.
As of 10:30 August 08, electricians have already managed to restore electricity to more than 46,000 families in 33 completely de-energized settlements and in 73 partially de-energized ones. 22 settlements remain completely or partially without electricity. Thunderstorm and wind gusts left 3 power lines of 6-10 kV completely de-energized and 9 — partially, as well as 159 transformers substations.
The crews continue to work in the high alert mode to restore electricity as soon as possible.
