DTEK restored electricity to more than a thousand residents of the Odessa region, who suffered from shelling

On the night of July 18-19, the enemy launched missiles strikes on the Odessa region, which damaged electrical infrastructure, leaving about 2,000 families without electricity. DTEK Odessa Grids emergency and restoration crews commenced repair of damaged grids as soon as they got a permit from the AFU. By the morning, energy workers managed to restore power to more than 1,000 families. Elimination of consequences of missile strikes on the grids is ongoing.

Missile strikes on the Odessa region caused damage to power lines and electrical equipment, thus leaving residents of one of the region’s settlements without electricity. Prompt actions of the DTEK Odessa Grids repair crews, who started repairing grids immediately after obtaining a permit from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, helped restore electricity to 1,022 families by the morning of July 19. Currently, 950 homes remain without electricity. Energy workers are putting maximum effort to promptly repair damaged grids and restore electricity to all residents of the region, who were left without it.

Overall, there have been 16 cases of electrical infrastructure destruction in the Odessa region since the beginning of a full-scale armed attack on the territory of Ukraine. Shelling caused damage to 33 grids facilities, 2 administrative buildings of the Distribution System Operator, 68 electrical meters, etc. In total, since February 24 DTEK Odessa Grids energy workers have restored electricity to more than 26,000 families in the Odessa region.

Emergency and restoration crews continue to work 24/7 in order to promptly restore electricity to the homes of customers after emergencies, including due to shelling. The company cooperates with the Territorial Defense Forces and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to access the sites of damage.
