DTEK restored electricity to 7,800 families in 16 settlements that suffered from shelling in the Donetsk region

Despite an extremely difficult situation in the region, over the course of a day DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists were able to restore electricity to homes of residents of 16 settlements in the Donetsk region, de-energized due to shelling, missile and air strikes, thus restoring service to 7,864 families in Pokrovsk, Bakhmut and Kramatorsk districts.

The majority of restorations were in Toretsk community, which is located near the buffer zone and constantly suffers from shelling. Power was restored to almost 3,000 families here. Most of them had to wait for restoration of electricity for almost 4 days, as energy workers could not access sites of damage due to constant shelling. Once the military provided a permit for work performance – specialists of the energy company have conducted repair of the grids. Additionally, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists have restored electricity to 1,500 families in Bakhmut community. Energy workers were also working in Avdiivka, Marinka and Kostiantynivka communities.

Fighting is underway in the Donetsk region, causing more and more damage to grids and equipment. 320 settlements of the region remain without electricity. The most difficult situation is in the directions of Sloviansk, Avdiivka, Marinka, Toretsk and Bakhmut. Energy workers have to wait for the permit from the Armed Forces of Ukraine to perform repairs.

DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 153 days in a row and are repairing equipment and lines again and again, as soon as it becomes possible.
