DTEK restored power to almost 10,000 customers in the Dnipropetrovsk region that suffered from severe weather and hostilities

Thunderstorm with squally wind that passed through the Dnipropetrovsk region at the night of June 3 led to damage of lines and massive blackouts. By Friday morning, DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews managed to restore electricity to 4,753 homes and 3 settlements in the rural area, completely or partially left without electricity due to severe weather. They also managed to completely restore power to more than 5,000 families in the Kryvyi Rih district after yesterday shelling.

Last night’s severe weather caused massive blackouts and breaking of power lines in the region. Most blackouts happened in Novomoskovsk and Dnipro districts. Energy workers have already restored operation of 4 lines and 105 transformer substations, thus restoring power to 4,753 families in 3 settlements.

Currently, 10 settlements in the rural area remain completely without electricity and 18 – partially. Overall – 14,822 customers. DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews are working to repair damaged sections of lines and restore electricity to people’s homes as soon as possible. 31 crews and about three dozen pieces of machinery are involved in this work. Emergency and restoration activities in the region are to be completed by the end of the day.

Additionally, DTEK Dnipro Grids specialists have completely restored power to residents of the Kryvyi Rih district, left without electricity due to the damage of lines by yesterday shelling, thus restoring electricity to 5,051 families of the region. Despite frequent shelling, energy company’s specialists continue to restore power immediately after obtaining a permit from the AFU and State Emergency Service.

Since the beginning of war, DTEK Dnipro Grids repair crews are transferred to the emergency response and restoration operating mode and are ready to promptly restore electricity in case of blackouts.
