Over the course of a week (October 17 through 23), DTEK energy workers have restored electricity to 414,000 families, left without power due to shelling in in the city of Kyiv and in Kyiv, Odesa, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Despite shelling and difficult situation with hostilities, specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators continue to restore the grids with the permission of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and SES. Our goal is to provide towns and villages with electricity, required from normal life of the region’s residents.

Over the past week (October 17 through 23), specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators have restored operation of the grids, damaged due to hostilities, for 414,000 families in 592 settlements of Kyiv, Odesa, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, and in the city of Kyiv.

For instance, electricity has been restored to 63,000 families in the Donetsk region, where hostilities are the most intense. Upon permission of the AFU, power restoration is ongoing after destruction of the energy facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Restoration activities were carried out for 247,000 families over the course of a week. Electricity has been restored to 18,600 families in the Odesa region, where damage of the power supply facility was also registered, 83,000 families in the city of Kyiv and 1,800 families in the Kyiv region.

95 settlements in the Donetsk region remain without electricity. DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists will definitely restore electricity to homes of all residents of the region once they obtain a permit for work performance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Country’s energy infrastructure is now experiencing the most destruction in the history of independent Ukraine. In accordance with the order of NPC Ukrenergo, stabilization power cutoffs are being introduced in some regions of the country in order to stabilize the energy system and avoid large-scale emergencies.

They will last until state power company NPC Ukrenergo repairs all damaged components of the energy system. Information about cutoffs and resumption of electricity supply will be available via websites and social networks pages of DTEK Kyiv Grids, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids, DTEK Dnipro Grids and DTEK Odesa Grids.

However, every Ukrainian can help energy workers deal with enemy attacks. We ask everyone to consume electricity reasonably – switch on energy-consuming appliances in turn during peak load hours from 6.00 to 11.00 in the morning and from 17:00 to 23:00 in the evening. We ask business customers to limit usage of exterior lighting of facades of offices, restaurants, malls, etc.

These simple steps will help reduce the need for power cutoffs and the number of disconnected consumers. This is now the best support of energy workers, who are working 24/7 and are doing everything possible to ensure that everyone has electricity at home.

DTEK energy workers are working non-stop in the conditions of hostilities for 243 days now and together with all other services are doing everything possible to provide electricity to homes of Ukrainians.
