DTEK restores electricity: energy workers have restored power to 96,000 families over the course of a week
Despite constant shelling, DTEK Donetsk Grids emergency and repair crews were able to restore power to residents of 111 settlements over the course of the week, thus restoring electricity to homes of 96,040 families. Up to 20 crews of energy workers are working every day to repair the grids.
For example, energy workers have restored electricity to 12,134 families in 14 settlements of the Donetsk region over the weekend. Half of connections on July 9-10 were in Pokrovsk district. Electricity was restored to 6,300 families in Avdiivka and Marinka communities that constantly suffer from shelling.
Active hostilities are underway in the Donetsk region; shelling continues, including air assaults and missile strikes. Energy infrastructure of the region is constantly being damaged; energy enterprises are shutting down. Therefore, we ask residents of the region to treat power supply issues with understanding.
329 settlements in the Donetsk region remain without electricity. The most difficult situation is in the areas of Sloviansk, Avdiivka, Marinka, Toretsk and Bakhmut. Energy workers have to wait for the permit from the Armed Forces of Ukraine to perform repairs.
DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 136 days in a row and are repairing equipment and lines again and again, as soon as it becomes possible.
