Over the course of a week (October 10 through 16), DTEK energy workers have restored electricity to 90,000 families, left without power supply due to shelling in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Despite shelling and difficult situation with hostilities, specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators continue to restore the grids with the permission of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and SES. Our goal is to provide towns and villages with electricity, required from normal life of the region’s residents.

Over the past week (October 10 through 16), specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators have restored operation of the grids, damaged due to hostilities, for 90,000 families in 159 settlements of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Intense air assaults are underway in the Donetsk region, destroying infrastructure of towns and villages every day. This includes destruction of the grids that leaves residents of the region without electricity. Last week alone, DTEK electricians have restored electricity supply to more than 46,000 homes of residents of the region in 57 settlements.

Energy infrastructure of the Dnipropetrovsk region suffers severe damage, as well. Overall, energy workers have restored power to almost 44,000 families in 102 settlements of the Dnipropetrovsk region last week. Energy workers promptly commence repairs and are doing everything needed to restore power supply immediately after obtaining permits for work performance from SES and AFU.

82 settlements in the Donetsk region remain without electricity. DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists will definitely restore electricity to homes of all residents of the region once they obtain a permit for work performance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Country’s energy infrastructure is now experiencing the most destruction in the history of independent Ukraine. In accordance with the order of NPC Ukrenergo, stabilization power cutoffs may be applied in some regions of the country in order to stabilize the energy system and avoid large-scale emergencies.

They will last until state power company NPC Ukrenergo repairs all damaged components of the energy system. Information about cutoffs and resumption of electricity supply will be available via websites and social networks pages of DTEK Kyiv Grids, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids, DTEK Dnipro Grids and DTEK Odesa Grids.

However, every Ukrainian can help energy workers deal with enemy attacks. We ask everyone to consume electricity reasonably – switch on energy-consuming appliances in turn during peak load hours in the morning (from 8.00 to 11.00) and in the evening (from 18:00 to 23:00). We ask business customers to limit usage of exterior lighting of facades of offices, restaurants, malls, etc.

These simple steps will help reduce the need for power cutoffs and the number of disconnected consumers. This is now the best support of energy workers, who are working 24/7 and are doing everything possible to ensure that everyone has electricity at home.

DTEK energy workers are working non-stop in the conditions of hostilities for 236 days now and together with all other services are doing everything possible to provide electricity to homes of Ukrainians.
