Dual education at DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids: 81 students chose their path in the energy industry

Since the beginning of the year, the total number of program participants amounts to 81 students. In the first half of the year, the partner network remained the same — 12 educational establishments (6 universities and 6 colleges). We are actively working with them.

“We don’t just open the doors for students – we engage them in real operational processes, provide them with an opportunity to see how the energy industry functions from the inside. We believe that the first practical steps at the enterprise motivate young people to stay within the profession, develop and grow together with us. Our task is to invest in the future of the industry as soon as today,” — noted Vitalii Shaida, CEO at DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.

Over the first half of 2025, the company continued implementing its educational initiatives. Thus, specialists of the company held a series of motivational meetings with students of Tarashchansky Technical and Economic and Legal College, Nemyshaiv professional college of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP), as well as online meetings with future specialists from KPI and NAU. The company also took part in the job fair at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP) and in the four-day “Career Fest” at the Expo center of Ukraine. Upon results of those events, several students have already expressed the wish to join the dual education program – their registration will start in September. Another five students plan to join the company as employees after the summer holidays. Additionally, two new higher education establishments expressed their intention to sign a cooperation agreement – drafting of the required documents is currently ongoing.

Such initiatives are an opportunity to tell young people about real possibilities in the energy industry, inspire them to choose technical professions and find those, who is ready to build the energy future of Ukraine as soon as today.
