Dual education at DTEK Odesa Grids: 75 students chose their path in the energy industry

In the first half of 2025, DTEK Odesa Grids continues to actively expand the dual education project, which combines theoretical study and practical training at the enterprise. Such an approach provides the students with an opportunity to acquire real skills, and the company — to form a talent pool of young specialists.
Dual education at DTEK Odesa Grids: 75 students chose their path in the energy industry

At the beginning of 2025, 67 students took part in the project. During the first half of the year, another 8 students joined the project with the total number reaching 75 people. Currently, 5 educational establishments in Odesa have already joined the program.

“Thanks to the dual education, young people have an opportunity to master practical skills of working with advanced technologies and equipment. Meanwhile, we get motivated employees, who are already familiar with the specifics of processes. This makes dual education not just a promising approach to education, but also a true investment in the future of the energy industry of Ukraine,” — noted Dmytro Hryhoriev, CEO at DTEK Odesa Grids.

Within the framework of educational initiatives, the company actively cooperates with the Odesa Professional College Of Computer Science of the Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University, where meetings with students and their parents take place regularly. One of such initiatives was a talk with the company’s electrical mechanic. It provided the students with an opportunity to get to know the specifics of the profession directly.

Joint activities are being implemented with the National University “Odesa Polytechnic”. The company supports dual education students, arranges their practical training, and cooperates with scientists of the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics, as well as promotes dual education through meetings with graduates, information support in social media and communication with parents. Earlier, the company was also involved in creation of the advanced electrotechnical laboratory at the ONUT College of Oil and Gas Technologies.

A new stage begins in August 2025 — admission of students to dual education. Students, parents and representatives of educational institutions can get additional details by contacting the DTEK Odesa Grids specialist Havrylenko Pavlo Romanovych via his email HavrylenkoPR@dtek.com.
