Dual education in DTEK Grids DSO: 428 students chose their path in the energy industry

In the first half of 2025, 13 students joined the dual education project at DTEK Grids DSO with the overall number of participants reaching 428 people. The project combines theoretical study and practical training at the enterprises, thus providing the students with opportunity to acquire real skills, and the company — to form a talent pool.

DTEK Grids DSO currently cooperate with 27 educational establishments in the city of Kyiv and in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions — 13 universities and 14 colleges.

“We see how dual education changes the approach to specialist training. Youth gain practical skills, get familiar with advanced equipment and technologies, while we get motivated employees, who already know the specifics of work. This is an investment in the future of the energy industry of Ukraine,” — noted Alina Bondarenko, CEO at DTEK Grids.

DTEK Dnipro Grids held six educational events in Dnipro, at the NTU “Dnipro Polytechnic” in particular, where students were introduced to employment opportunities, tested VR goggles and visited personnel training center.

DTEK Kyiv Grids also held educational events in Kyiv: excursions to the power facilities for the students, participation in job fairs, in the Career Fest at the Expo center of Ukraine and in the Open House Days with the heads of departments of educational institutions. This allowed engaging students in the work on individual schedules at the enterprise.

Over the first half of the year, specialists of the DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids in the Kyiv region held motivational meetings with students of Tarashchansky and Nemyshaiv colleges, as well as online meetings with KPI and NAU. The company took part in the job fair at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP) and in the “Career Fest” at the Expo center of Ukraine. As a result — several students are already preparing to join the project, while five others plan to join the company as its employees. Two new higher education establishments also expressed their intention to sign a cooperation agreement.

DTEK Odesa Grids actively interacts with educational partners in Odesa. Regular meetings with students and parents take place at the professional college of computer science of the Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University, as well as participation in the meetings of the Accreditation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science. The company supports students at the National University “Odesa Polytechnic” within the framework of dual education, arranges practical training, implements joint projects with the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics, as well as promotes dual education through meetings with graduates and social media. The company helped create an advanced electrotechnical laboratory and equip a computer class at the ONUT Professional College Of Oil And Gas Technologies.

A new stage begins in August — admission of students to dual education. You can apply for participation in the dual education project via the group curator. Such initiatives are not just an opportunity for the youth to see possibilities in the energy industry, but also a real chance to become a part of its future as soon as today.
