Improving energy stability: the amount of distributed and green power generation connected to DTEK Grids DSO increased twice in 2025

In 2025, the number of green and distributed generation facilities that the customers of the DTEK Grids Distribution Systems Operators connected in the capital, and in Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv and Odesa regions increased twice to over 5,000 installations compared to the previous year. In the conditions of constant enemy attacks on heat generation and other energy infrastructure, such solutions are the ones strengthening energy stability of the regions and helping communities maintain electricity. DTEK Grids DSO create simple and comfortable conditions for connection of green and distributed generation and foster development of the country’s energy stability.
Improving energy stability: the amount of distributed and green power generation connected to DTEK Grids DSO increased twice in 2025

5,144 green and distributed generation facilities were connected in 2025. This is twice as much as in 2024. The largest amount of the added generation last year was registered in the Kyiv region — 2,804 facilities, while Dnipropetrovsk region had 872 facilities, Odesa region — 887, the capital — 169. In particular, 442 customers of DTEK Grids DSO gained the status of active consumers – i.e. they not only have installations for their own use, but they also sell the excess of the produced electricity to the energy system.

Solar Power Plants remain the most popular among business customers. In 2025, energy workers connected 21 SPPs, as well as 11 gas engine generator sets, gas turbine power plants and cogeneration installations and 7 electricity storage installations, thus allowing enterprises to partially cover their own electricity needs and maintain stable operation even during the periods of limitations.

The prosumers* segment is actively expanding too, although, through solar stations only so far. In 2025, household customers of DTEK Grids DSO connected 4,691 facilities.

Since the beginning of company’s business activities in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Donetsk regions, as well as in the capital, a total of more than 24,500 green generation facilities have been connected to the grids.

“Every new distributed or green generation facility is an additional component of stability for the energy system. In the conditions when the enemy is systematically attacking large power facilities, decentralized generation makes it possible to reduce the load on the grids and restore power supply faster. We provide convenient and fast opportunity for connection of new capacities even despite constant repairs after the strikes. This is our contribution to providing communities and businesses with more energy autonomy,” — noted DTEK Grids CEO Alina Bondarenko.

Despite war challenges and concentration of resources on restoration of damaged equipment, DTEK Grids DSO continue to modernize the grids and create technical conditions for the development of distributed and green generation.
