In September, energy workers of the DSO cleaned more than 14,000 square meters of territories near substations, distribution points and company’s offices, while collecting 38 tons of waste. 310 employees of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids joined the activity, which is indicative of the high level of energy workers’ engagement in the company’s environmental initiatives.

“The full-scale war causes significant damage to the environment, and its consequences will be long felt not only in the Ukrainian eco system but throughout the entire world as well. Daily shelling, destruction of the infrastructure, leakage of oil products and fires are all caused by the long-lasting aggression. As a socially responsible business, we actively support initiatives, directed at preservation of the environment. Our participation in the World Cleanup Day is an important step in the fight for clean environment even during the war. Despite all challenges, we continue to repair grids and develop infrastructure, while following the principles of sustainable development and environmental responsibility,” — noted Liudmyla Bocharova, lead specialist of the occupational and environmental safety department.

World Cleanup Day 2024 in Ukraine is organized by the eco movement Let’s Do It Ukraine, which is a part of Let’s Do It World. This initiative unites 90 million people in more than 210 countries around the world for the sake of cleaning our planet from solid waste. Such eco initiatives not only improve the environment, but also increase awareness about the importance of sustainable development.
