DTEK Odesa Grids Power Engineers Restored Service to Odesa Hospitals

Thermal power generation29 October 2021
Today, October 29, at 7:43 am, the 110 kV Kyivska substation was disconnected. Consequently, 15,000 customers were left without power supply. Some of the city hospitals were also de-energized, including the Odesa City Clinical Hospital No. 11, the Odesa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, the Odesa Regional Center for Socially Significant Diseases, where critically ill Covid-19 were recently transported.

Two minutes later, the power engineers connected the Odesa Regional Center for Socially Significant Diseases to the generator, which was installed here on Wednesday, October 27th. A few minutes later, hospital No. 11 was connected to the backup power supply.

As of 8:03 AM, DTEK Odesa Grids fully restored power supply to all customers who are powered by the Kyivska substation.

The preliminary reason for the Kyivska substation disconnection is an emergency shutdown of the 110 kV bus section at the 330 kV Usatovo substation, which is on the NEC Ukrenergo balance.
