DTEK employees help Odesa residents fight the coronavirus disease: Odesaoblenergo has secured electricity supply to quarantine checkpoints
A resolution to introduce quarantine checkpoints was passed by the State Commission on Environmental Safety and Emergencies of Odesa Region Council on 30 March.
‘The work carried on by Odesaoblenergo employees has always remained a pillar of normal life, and we will use every possible effort to keep it this way in these turbulent times. We have already inspected police checkpoints to ensure that they have reliable electricity supply. We have also installed 400 m of overhead power lines and laid 200 m of cable to connect 8 floodlights at the Odesa — Melitopol — Novoazovsk checkpoint. Electricity supply helped arrange the checkpoints in an extremely short time and thus create advanced protection for the region,’ informed Odesaoblenergo CEO Oleksandr Fomenko.
Seven checkpoints located along Savron — Haivoron, Oleksiivka — Balta, Voznesensk — Odesa, Vradiivka — Mykolaivka, Kirovohrad — Platonovo, Kyiv — Odesa motorways, Platonovo checkpoint and a checkpoit at the exit from Mykolaivka were connected to street lighting systems by Odesaoblenergo power engineers straight away. 70 meters of cable were laid by Odesaoblenergo specialists near Riviera Shopping Mall to supply electricity to a police trailer. Other checkpoints will be connected to electricity supply once their location has been finally decided.
Odesaoblenergo engaged 13 teams from Central, North, South, Lyman, Izmail, Mykolaiv, Savran, and Kodyma power grid districts managed by Odesaoblenergo and 10 units of special machinery to ensure quick response.
