DTEK brings back light: energy workers restored power to 59,000 families in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions

From July 31 to August 6, DTEK energy workers have restored electricity to 59,000 families in 105 settlements of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions that were left without power supply due to the enemy shelling. Specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators repair the grids, destroyed by the enemy, immediately after obtaining permission from the AFU and SES.

Despite the danger, DTEK energy workers continue to work in the regions close to the areas of hostilities. Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, in particular, where regular shelling destroys power lines. Our specialists have restored operation of the grids for 47,000 families in the Donetsk region and 12,000 families in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Last weekend, in addition to restorations after shelling, energy workers in the Dnipropetrovsk region have also restored electricity to 56,000 residents, de-energized due to bad weather.

“Our specialists’ primary task is to provide Ukrainians with electricity as much as it is possible in conditions of increased risks. Since the beginning of a full-scale war, we have restored electricity to 8.4 mln* families in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Donetsk regions, and in the city of Kyiv. Some settlements close to the area of hostilities had electricity restored to them on dozens of occasions,”noted Oleksandr Fomenko, CEO at DTEK Grids.

DTEK Grids energy workers are doing everything possible to eliminate damage as soon as possible. They commence work immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES.
