DTEK energy workers restore service: 111,000 customers, restoration of communication in Makariv and restoration of grids in the cleared areas of Kyiv region

In the course of a week (March 28 - April 3), DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids emergency crews have completely or partially restored service to 271 settlements in Kyiv region, left without electricity due to hostilities. Service is restored to 111,250 families. Additionally, electricians have restored operation of a substation that powers equipment of mobile and telecom operators in Makariv and started restoring power to the districts of Kyiv region, cleared from russian invaders by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Service is being restored to these territories after mine clearance. Emergency and restoration activities in the region continue, once the crews are enabled to safely perform them.

Last week (March 28 – April 3), DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids electricians managed to completely or partially restore power to 271 settlements in Kyiv region. Overall, power was restored to 111,250 customers.

Last week DTEK specialists have also started restoring power to districts of Kyiv region that were cleared from russian invaders by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Over the past weekend, company’s specialists have completely or partially restored service to Velyka Dymerka, Mykhailivka and Rudnytske in Baryshivka and Brovary districts, cleared from invaders by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Power was restored to 2,506 customers.

Besides, company’s specialists have energized a substation that ensures operation of equipment of mobile and telecom operators in Makariv, thus restoring communication in the territories, previously occupied by the russians.

Electricians start their work immediately after mine clearance of these territories. First, emergency crews restore 110-35 kV high-voltage grids that supply power to the settlements. Then, they will start restoring 10-0.4 kV distribution grids that supply power directly to residential buildings.

Energy workers of all DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators rallied to restore everything that was destroyed by the invaders. DTEK energy workers from Odessa region and Kyiv are helping to restore damaged grids in the Kyiv region.

Since February 24, 2022, when the aggressor has launched a full-scale military assault on our country, DTEK emergency and restoration crews have restored service to 307,342 Ukrainian families in Kyiv region.

The company cooperates with the Territorial Defense Forces and Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to access damaged sites. DTEK electricians jointly with doctors, volunteers and suppliers of the essential food and medications do everything in their power to support Ukraine and Ukrainians in these difficult circumstances.

Residents of 492 settlements in Kyiv region remain without electricity. The situation is complicated by active hostilities.

Emergency crews of energy workers are working non-stop for 40 days in a row in order to promptly restore power supply to settlements in Kyiv region, affected by hostilities.
