DTEK energy workers continue restoring service to the liberated areas of the Kyiv region: hospitals, village councils, school and pharmacy in Zahaltsi and Hostomel, communication station in Makariv district and 34,000 homes
Last week (April 18 through 24), DTEK electricians have restored power to 78 settlements in the Kyiv region. Energy workers inspected lines in towns and villages on a daily basis and gradually repaired electrical infrastructure. Service was restored to 34,326 homes and to the important infrastructure facilities: hospitals, village councils, school and pharmacy in Zahaltsi and Hostomel, communication station in Makariv district.
In particular, on April 24, power was partially restored to Bucha, Hostomel, Irpin, Khutir Nezamozhnykh, Dibrova, Kozyntsi, Mykulychi and Nemishaieve in the Bucha district, and to the village Rozvazhiv in the Vyshhorod district.
Since April 3, when Ukrainian military liberated Kyiv region from russian invaders, energy workers have restored electricity to almost 60% of all families, left without electricity due to hostilities. Power is now restored to more than 90,000 families in the Kyiv region. 50,000 households in 93 settlements remain without electricity. Energy workers plan to restore service to all residents of the Kyiv region by June 1.
In particular, on April 18, DTEK energy workers plan to perform power restoration activities in 19 settlements of Bucha and Vyshhorod districts. Additionally, restoration of electricity as per requests of consumers, returning to their homes in the liberated areas, is underway.
Energy workers of all DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators rallied to restore everything that was destroyed by the invaders. DTEK energy workers from Odessa and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as the city of Kyiv are helping to restore damaged grids in the Kyiv region. Electricians start their work immediately after mine clearance of these territories by the Ukrainian military and after provision of a permit by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, required to access damaged sites. First, emergency crews restore 110-35 kV high-voltage grids that supply power to the settlements. Then, they repair 10-0.4 kV distribution grids that supply power directly to residential buildings. Additionally, company’s specialists process requests of consumers from towns and villages, where service was completely restored to settlements through 10 kV grids, and started repairing 0.4 kV grids.
Emergency crews of energy workers are working non-stop for 61 days in a row in order to promptly restore power to settlements in Kyiv region, affected by hostilities. DTEK electricians jointly with doctors, volunteers and suppliers of the essential food and medications do everything in their power to support Ukraine and Ukrainians in these difficult circumstances.
