Energy workers ask Kyiv business to pay the electricity bills – otherwise, they will not be able to conduct repairs of grids

As of March, level of payment for electricity in Kyiv is 50% of the actual charges. This creates difficulties for the Distribution System Operator – without payments, the company is unable to procure materials, required for repair of grids, and fuel vehicles to timely eliminate emergencies and maintain stable operation of company’s grids. Kyiv business and city residents are being asked to pay the electricity bills. This will help maintain working efficiency of repair crews and keep light in the homes of Kyiv inhabitants.

Since the beginning of war, Ukrainian energy workers have maintained stable operation of the grids. DTEK Kyiv Grids specialists have repeatedly repaired grids, damaged by shelling, that power homes of Kyiv inhabitants. Just in the course of the past week, our specialists have restored service to 86,000 customers, who were left without electricity due to military actions on the outskirts of the city.

Unfortunately, the level of payment for the distribution service is now 50% of the actual charges. Much of the debt is formed by Kyiv business. We ask entrepreneurs and Kyiv residents to pay for electricity distribution. This is vital for the company to be able to procure materials and fuel for repair crews, and continue promptly restoring the grids, destroyed during hostilities.

Payment for electricity is now a contribution of all entrepreneurs and Kyiv residents in support of the entire energy grid of the capital. This will help overcome difficulties and ensure stable operation of Kyiv grids.
