DTEK Dnipro Grids energy workers were awarded for their personal contributions to restoring the grids after hostilities and to ensuring operability of the energy system in the wartime conditions. Badges and Certificates of Honor of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine were awarded to relay protection maintenance engineer Volodymyr Burdiian and electrician Serhii Sukhomlyn. Together with other specialists of the company they took an active part in restoration of the grids in the Dnipropetrovsk region after missile strikes and artillery shelling. They also helped their colleagues in restoring power supply to the de-occupied Bucha and other regions of Ukraine.

“DTEK Grids is a foundation and support for normal life of the country and Ukrainians. Especially now – during the war. We are proud of every energy worker, who risks his life to hold the energy front. It is thanks to such professionals as Volodymyr Burdiian, Serhii Sukhomlyn and many more our employees that Dnipropetrovsk region endured and passed winter with light and heating, despite the barrage of enemy missiles and constant shelling, and we are sure that it will pass the next one, as well,” – noted DTEK Dnipro Grids.

During the previous autumn-winter period, which was the most difficult in the history of independent Ukraine, DTEK Dnipro Grids energy workers have eliminated over 5,500 emergencies in the Dnipropetrovsk region alone, including 1,000 – caused by hostilities. The crews had to work under constant threat of shelling. Due to close proximity to the area of hostilities, the crews had to work under constant threat of shelling.

Despite all challenges since the beginning of a full-scale offensive, DTEK Dnipro Grids energy workers continue to hold the energy front. Electricians became one strong team to promptly restore electricity in the areas, where hostilities were and are ongoing. They do it for the doctors to be able to save lives, for business to work, for Ukrainians to be in touch with their family and friends and to travel throughout the country and abroad.

Let us remind that in May 2023, the Minister of Defense Oleksii Reznikov presented state awards to the DTEK Dnipro Grids energy workers. 7 employees of the company received medals “For the Assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine” and “Badges of Honor”.
