Energy workers restored electricity to almost 554,000 families in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv regions and in the city of Kyiv over the course of a week
Massive missile attacks and shelling continued to destroy the energy infrastructure last week. In particular, Kyiv and Kyiv region suffered missile and drone attacks, which caused a number of outages. On January 2, energy workers have promptly restored power to 284,000 families in Kyiv. Specialists of the energy company have also restored electricity to 185,500 homes in the Kyiv region.
Additionally, energy workers have restored electricity to 75,000 homes in the Donetsk region, which remains the area of the most active hostilities.
Dnipropetrovsk region also constantly suffers from shelling, especially south of the region, where power has been restored to 8,800 families over the course of the week.
“For 684 days now, energy workers have been holding the energy front and providing Ukrainians with electricity in the conditions of increased risks. Since the beginning of a full-scale war, we have restored electricity to 10.5 mln* families in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Donetsk regions, and in the city of Kyiv. Some settlements close to the area of hostilities had electricity restored to them on dozens of occasions,” – noted Oleksandr Fomenko, CEO at DTEK Grids.
Let us remind that companies DTEK, Ukrenergo, Centrenergo and Ukrzaliznytsia launched a “Heroes of the energy front” project to honor the work of energy workers. Stories of energy workers, who continue to work heroically in the conditions of war, have been collected and posted on the website.
