DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids to develop the energy infrastructure of Obukhiv District, says the company's head Vitaliy Shaida
By 2024, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids will invest UAH 500 million in the energy infrastructure of Obukhiv District. With these funds, the company will build a new 110/35/10 kV substation named "Kozyn", a 110 kV cable line named "Pidhirtsi-Kozyn" and a 35/10 kV overhead power line named "Dachna". The 110/35/10 kV Obukhiv substation and the 110 kV Vasylkiv-Obukhiv-Trypilska overhead power line will also be reconstructed. The plan for further development of the regional power grids will be approved by the Regulator.
"DTEK cares about the future of Ukraine, we build and upgrade the networks of Kyiv Region to ensure reliable and uninterrupted energy supply to customers. In 2021, we increased the investment program by 44% compared to 2020, thanks to which we have started large-scale projects, such as the construction of 110/35/10 kV Kozyn substation with 110 kV Pidhirtsi-Kozyn supply cable line, - says Vitaliy Shaida, CEO of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.
DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids gives priority to the development of the Obukhiv District networks. Since 1996, the energy supply of this district has been problematic due to the failure of one of the two 330/110 kV transformers serviced by Trypillya TPP, as well as insufficient capacity of the 110 kV "Vasylkiv-Obukhiv-Trypilska” power line.
The construction of the 10/35/10 kV Kozyn substation, which is the first stage of the Obukhiv District network development project, has been completed by 80%. Its commissioning is scheduled for October this year. The company has already installed two new power transformers of 40 MW each, current and voltage transformers, SF6 switches, 10 kV arc-quenching reactors, etc. The next step is to install a system of relay protection and automation, fire alarm and landscaping.
When this substation is commissioned, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids will be able to connect customers around 35/10 kV "Dachna" and "Koncha-Zaspa" substations step by step. The company plans to completely remove the restrictions to connect customers by 2024 after the reconstruction of the 110/35/10kV Obukhiv substation is completed. The capacity after the reconstruction of the Obukhov power center will meet the needs of the company's customers at least until 2032.
