Students who participate in the dual training program of DTEK Donetsk Grids undergo training in the structural divisions of the company and get a job in their specialty. Students study and hold positions of an electrician and an electrician for the switchgear equipment maintenance. A professional mentor is assigned to each program participant who guides at all stages of the practical part of the training. We have concluded tripartite agreements with students for receiving education in a dual form, as well as fixed-term employment agreements. They receive an official salary monthly, and have benefits provided for the company's employees.

“DTEK is a conscious and reliable company that cares about the future of Ukraine and supports talented youth. In the 2019-2020 school year, 10 students from the Priazov State Technical University and the Donbass State Machine-Building Academy took part in the DTEK Donetsk Grids dual education program. In 2020-2021, we expanded the project to 6 educational institutions and increased the number of participants to 24. At the end of the school year, we will offer successful students employment in our company,” - says Oleksii Degtiarev, DTEK Donetsk Grids CEO.

The key advantage of dual education is that it provides 50% of practice in the enterprise and 50% of theory in the educational institution. The program is based on the consolidation of the acquired knowledge in real job conditions. Dual education prepares future employees considering the needs of the employer. After graduation, students are adapted and know how to work with the equipment of a particular enterprise.

“The work-study form of education is a great opportunity to try on a profession, a future place of work and, moreover, to get a salary. Of course, you need to study theory from books and textbooks. But during training at the enterprise, I see how all the processes that were described to us in classrooms look like in real life. This is a very good experience, the most important stage in my life. When I get my diploma, I hope to become a real power engineer and continue to build a career at DTEK Donetsk Grids,” says Nikita Aksenov, a student of an electrician for the distribution networks operation, and a student at Priazov State Technical University.

The company works with six educational institutions, namely Priazov State Technical University (Mariupol), Donbass State College of Technology and Management (Toretsk), Kramatorsk Specialized College of Industry, Information Technologies and Business, Donbass State Machine-Building Academy (Kramatorsk), Donetsk National Technical University (Pokrovsk) and Slavic College of Transport Infrastructure.

The company plans to take about 25 students under the dual program in the future 2021-2022 school year. In order to take part in the dual training program, a student should be getting an education in an energy-related specialty, be a 3-4 year student of one of the educational institutions that has entered into an agreement with the company, fill out a questionnaire and be pre-qualified.
